Part I – Diorama

I shot these self- and moose portraits in Berlin’s Museum of Natural History. The diorama with moose depicts a typical river-mouth landscape, like the Nemunas in Lithuania, where my grandparents went on vacation in the 1920s when they were young.

Soon to be translated.

Mein Großvater hatte nicht nur das große gerahmte Foto eines Elches in seinem Büro, auf das er immer blickt (und unter dem mein Vater saß) – immer wenn ich ihn nach seinen Erinnerung an den Krieg oder seine Zeit in Litauen fragte, schwieg er und erzähte mir dann Geschichten von Elchen.

Die Fotos sind im Naturkunde Museum Berlin entstanden. Das dortige Diorama mit den Elchen zeigt eine typische Delta-Landschaft, exakt wie am Kurischen Haff.
