Coming Home

Lenthe is a village that belongs to the smalltown in which I grew up. The title of this work is meant literally. I wanted to connect and undermine at the same time juvenile- pubescent longing for gateways and freedom (from a smalltown atmosphere) with the romantic landscape as it is represented by the beautiful English park.

In drei am Rande des Parks stehende große Bäume montierte ich CD-Player, an denen Kopfhörer befestigt wurden. Um die Stämme der Bäume herum wurden Kreise sowie Kissen aus Kunstrasen gelegt. Der Betrachter konnte seine Blickachse (in die weite landwirtschaftlich geprägte Landschaft oder den Park) wählen und angelehnt an die Bäume über die Kopfhörer verschiedene Geschichten vom Aufbruch hören:
